I joined the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) from Capital and Coast District Health Board where I was responsible for sourcing and recruitment of Senior Medical Officers (Physicians and Surgeons) from domestic and international markets.

I have worked in the area of medical recruitment across the public and private sectors over a number of years and have considerable expertise in relocating professionals from offshore, including managing complex professional registration and immigration processes.

Before heading into medical recruitment I led the Registration/Licensing team at the Medical Council of New Zealand where I gained considerable statutory and regulatory experience along with a strong understanding of professional qualifications and training from around the world and how they translate to the New Zealand practice context.

I have considerable experience leading recruitment teams and in developing and managing talent pipelines and candidate care. I also have strategic workforce and resourcing expertise having previously advised primary care health providers on how best to organise and utilise their professional healthcare talent.

I work closely with Verification Services within MPI to ensure they have sufficient quality Veterinary talent to meet their current and future business needs. I also assist in sourcing Veterinary talent for other parts of MPI and with the sourcing of talent for other science based and some executive roles.
